Weak growth in London retail sales for May

In May, retail sales in London grew by 1.6 per cent on a like-for-like basis. It was the weakest growth seen in the capital so far this year, and was held back by milder weather during the month.

April UK retail sales higher than expected

During the month of April, retail sales in the UK showed an increase that was much larger than expected, as lower interest rates seemed to maintain levels of consumer spending.
