Fashion retailer ASOS forecasting profits ahead of expectations

Online British fashion retailer ASOS issued a forecast on Monday indicating that full-year profits are ahead of market expectations and that its recent trading is remaining buoyant.
“We expect our profit before tax (for the year to March 31 2009) to be slightly ahead of market expectations,” said Nick Robertson, chief executive of the company.

Women’s clothing retailer Dorothy Perkins is introducing labels other than its own into its stores for the first time.
Last week, Uttam London TFNC apparel brands became available at 20 Dorothy Perkins stores and on the company’s website. While Uttam London is primarily a wholesaler, TFNC is sold in some Topshop stores as well.

Ideal Shopping reports loss of over 11 million pounds

UK home shopping retailer, Ideal Shopping Direct, has reported a significant full-year loss for 2008 that it says is due to exceptional costs during the period, higher operating expenses and reduced sales. According to the company’s board, a final dividend will not be recommended.
