Comet slashes prices on TV and Blue ray packages
by Harry Oldfield
Comet has slashed prices on TV and Blu-ray entertainment-package sets, which the firm hopes will dramatically increase sales over the course of the next two months. The current price for a 40in Samsung TV, three pairs of specs, and a 3D Blu-ray player is now £999.99 until the end of September, over £500 off the original price. Comet is hoping that the highly anticipated release of Sky TV’s 3D channel, the first in the UK, will also help spur sales of the 3D TV entertainment packages.
According to Comet commercial director Bob Darke, his firm’s 3D package is an incredible opportunity for consumers to enjoy 3D TV at a low price. He went on to say that the Samsung TV, specs, and Blu-ray player provide the complete package for anyone who wants to get the most out of the latest 3D technology.
The release of 3D TV through Sky TV on 1 October has led many experts to believe that it will forever change the way viewers watch TV. Samsung vice president of consumer electronics Andy Griffith said that once viewers get a taste of a TV show in 3D, the excitement and energy will hook them forever. Brian Lenz, Sky’s director of product design and TV product development agrees with his colleague and said that 3D TV is a truly jaw-dropping experience, and has received high praise from everyone who has had the opportunity to enjoy it.
