The William Rast brand, based in Los Angeles, is celebrating the expansion of its line into Berlin, London and Paris.
Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala, his business partner, are behind the brand, partnering with key retailers in Europe to host runway shows that showcase their garments and parties that promote the “New America” theme of the brand.
On 29 June the brand’s Fall 2009 collection hit the runway in Europe, and “pop-up” shops for fashion for men and women were launched at the iconic Selfridges store in London.
Timberlake and Ayala joined in the London launch and the festivities, heading to Berlin afterwards for the Bread & Butter trade show, they presented the brand’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection – including a selection of lower-priced items.
The William Rast’s European excursion was rounded out with a collaboration in Paris with the Colette boutique, where a window display was dedicated to the brand from 28 June through 5 July 5. It features styles appearing on the runway during the New York Fashion Week held earlier this year.
Both the Selfridges pop-up shops and the Colette window were designed in co-operation with Johnston Marklee & Associates, the acclaimed LA-based architectural firm.
