National Youth Agency consultant faces paedophilia allegations
by Adam Richards
A sting operation run by Sky News claims to have found a National Youth Agency consultant to be engaged in sexual activities with minors. George Beard, 57, a former development officer for a youth group, was caught on camera by Sky News journalists as he was waiting to meet a 13-year–old girl, allegedly for a sexual encounter.
The sting operation lasted for six months, during which Beard was monitored closely by Sky News as he roamed internet chat rooms, having explicit chats with minors and allegedly grooming children to have sex with him. Sky News journalists set up a bogus account with the name of Amy, posing as a 13-year-old. After chatting with Amy for over a month, Beard finally set a meeting, with the assumed intent of having sex with her.
The meeting was scheduled to take place at an address in West London, and Beard made a point to ensure that Amy’s mother would not be home and that she was able to take a day off from school to meet him. Once Beard arrived at the location, he was approached by the Sky News reporters, whom he refused to speak with.
Beard has a wife and children and claims on his website that he has over 20 years experience working with children to help with their development. Sky News turned their findings over to the authorities.
