Heather Mills accused of taking advantage of Nanny
by Paul Russell
The former nanny of Heather Mills has told an employment tribunal that she forced her staff to say positive things about her to a film crew. She also said that she was forced to work long hours without extra pay, and felt uncomfortable about Mills moaning about her ex-husband Sir Paul McCartney.
Sara Trumble, 26, said that her former employer became rude and was highly strung after the ex-Beatle divorced her in 2008. She also claimed that the former model was unsympathetic towards her when she went through a difficult pregnancy, forcing her to accompany her on trips abroad.
Ms Trumble, who was paid £260 a week by Heather, said that she felt she was a loyal and hard-working employee, but her former boss took advantage of her. Opening her case for compensation before an employment tribunal in Ashford, Ms Trumble said her hours changed as Beatrice grew older and began going to nursery. She said she was also expected to help with housework.
However, she soon found that she was often expected to stay well after her set working hours while she waited for Mills and Sir Paul to return home from their various engagements. She claims she received no extra pay in these occasions.
Ms Trumble said that she was shocked when Mills told her that she must tell a film crew how wonderful she was in a film that was put on YouTube. The interview was entirely orchestrated by Heather, she said.
Ms Trumble said that when she became pregnant in February 2007, Mills paid for her to go to a private clinic in London. But she went on to say that she resented having to travel with Mills and Beatrice on a trip to the US when she competed on Dancing With The Stars as she was sick at that time.
Ms Trumble said that she was grateful when Mills offered her a cheque for £1,000 after she gave birth to her daughter, but added that she was then asked to look after Beatrice when she was meant to be on maternity leave.
