$7000 talking sex robot unveiled
by Natasha Redman
A new $7000 talking sex robot has been unveiled in Las Vegas, standing at 5 foot 7 and weighing 120 pounds, and has the ability to talk about your interests and have sex whenever you please.
The robot, named Roxxxy, is said to be the most sophisticated talking female sex robot in the world.
According to inventor Douglas Hines, she doesn’t cook or vacuum, but can do pretty much everything else.
With many lifelike dolls already on the market, Roxxxy takes virtual companionships to a whole new level.
Roxxxy is powered by a computer underneath soft silicone skin, and utilises voice recognition technology and speech-synthesis software to answer questions and maintain conversations. She also comes programmed with 5 different personality types, from ‘Frigid Farrah’ to ‘Wild Wendy’.
Hines said that the Roxxxy won’t be available for several months, but orders are being taken through his website, where thousands of men have already signed up.
But it hasn’t just been men showing interest in the artificial companion, Hines said that women have inquired about ordering the robot too, including one female sex therapist who had contacted him about purchasing one for her patients.
Hines, who has a wife and lives in Lincoln Park, New Jersey, said he has spent over three years working on the robot after trying to find a suitable application for his artificial-intelligence technology.
Roxxxy’s body is made from silicone, similar to that used in prosthetic limbs, moulded over a skeleton. She cannot move, but can be contorted into a natural position.
