US President Barack Obama cuts golf game and rushes home with ambulance
by Paul Russell
US President Barack Obama has cut short a round of golf and rushed back to his holiday home in Hawaii followed by an ambulance with lights flashing and siren sounding.
Initial fears were that something may have happened to the First Lady Michelle Obama or daughters Malia and Sasha were dismissed in under an hour when it emerged that the fuss was about a friend of the President who suffered minor injuries.
Spokesman for the White House Bill Burton said the first family is fine, but did not provide any details of the friend whose injuries caused Mr Obama to suddenly abandon his game of golf and race back in a motorcade.
An administration official claimed that one of the children of Mr Obama’s golfing partners had been hurt in a run of the mill beach injury that did not require stitches.
The incident was not too serious as the President soon returned to his motorcade and completed his round of golf.
